5 Things You Should Know About CBD Before Your First Purchase

Hi, Dr. Meredith Warner here –

I use CBD every day to enhance my health and overall well-being. There are many ways to take CBD, and as its popularity grows, so does its availability from many different retailers. The science surrounding CBD is relatively new, and as companies create new products in varying types of potency, it can be challenging to ascertain which product is right for you.

Here are a few things you should keep in mind as you go to purchase CBD:

Consider Your Lifestyle

Think about what you’re hoping to accomplish from your new CBD routine. If you simply want to sleep better, try choosing a product that you can take at certain times of the day. It’s always a good idea to initially select a product that allows dosing modification.

Our CBD Oil Tincture is a great product to start with. You can choose your dosage drop by drop – making it our most easily customizable product.

Choose Products From Trustworthy Sources

CBD has become extremely popular – and supply has risen to the demand – some CBD vendors are more trustworthy than others.

You should look for CBD vendors with detailed 3rd party lab testing results readily available – either directly on their website or available upon request. Most CBD will come from a USDA-approved industrial hemp farm; you should be able to verify that information.

You can find our lab testing results on each of our product pages!

Which Extraction Type Do You Want?

CBD is available in Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and CBD Isolate.

Full Spectrum CBD contains the full range of beneficial terpenes and cannabinoids from the hemp plant and may contain trace amounts of THC – though not enough for psychoactive effects. By definition, if CBD is derived from the industrial hemp plant, it will have less than 0.3% THC, which is negligible.

Broad Spectrum contains most of the terpenes and cannabinoids CBD has to offer – with the THC removed.

CBD Isolate contains only CBD, with no cannabinoids or terpenes.

If you’re looking to see how only CBD will affect you, products with CBD Isolate are an excellent option for you. If you’re interested to see how Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum CBD affects you, give them a try! CBD’s effects are very personalized, regardless of the extraction type or potency – so it’s essential to test and see.

CBD Products Are Legal -

in all 50 states

With the Farm Bill In 2018, hemp-derived CBD was declared legal if its production followed strict regulations. CBD products cannot contain more than 0.3% THC, so all legal CBD products will not get you “high.”

The Science Behind CBD Is Still Developing

While CBD has been shown in clinical trials to benefit medicinal effects, including being used as an effective treatment for epilepsy, much about CBD is still unknown. There is a massive amount of research being done, most of it outside of this country. It’s essential to manage your expectations while taking CBD. If your friend found it helpful for their anxiety, you may find it more useful as a joint and muscle pain reliever.

This doesn’t mean that CBD cannot have a relaxing effect – it just means that your body might respond differently to it. This can change depending on the type of product you use, how fast it absorbs, and how much you use at a time. This may also depend upon any other medications you may be taking – and if you are on prescription medications, check with your physician about the compatibility.
