How Cannabinoids Work in Your Body

CBD and THC are both considered cannabinoids. Meaning, they regulate how cells communicate with each other by binding to specific receptors within your central nervous system. The cells to which they bind are part of the endocannabinoid system (inner-cannabinoid). Your fascia, as part of your connective tissue, is located throughout your entire body. It’s the casing that holds your organs, blood vessels, nerve fiber, and muscles into place. Fascia links us in long lines from head to toe. It also links us together from inside to outside. Then, there are various other connections in the planes between.

You can experience fascia pain when your hyaluronan dries up or decreases. Hyaluronan is the in-between substance that works between your layers of fascia to keep everything running smoothly. It is actually hyaluronic acid (HA), a molecule that retains moisture. The amount of moisture retained depends upon the molecular weight of that particular HA molecule.

When your fascia seizes up as a result of hyaluronan loss, it can cause muscle tightness, make it harder for you to move, or create knots. This is a source of what is called “myofascial” pain.
