Daily Support For Diabetic Neuropathy Pain

The benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid as a daily supplement provides powerful, effective support for diabetic neuropathy pain.

Dr. Meredith Warner loves Alpha-lipoic Acid for those with Peripheral Neuropathy to help the pain, numbness, and tingling stay away naturally!

Alpha lipoic Acid helps you ward off harmful inflammation & oxidative stress, which can damage nerves that lead to neuropathic pain.

  • Increased energy
  • Promote healthy nerve function
  • Helps control blood sugar levels in those with diabetes
  • Protects nerves from damaging free radicals
  • Support inflammation levels in the body
  • Supports mitochondrial function

“Antidepressants, opioids, narcotics, and more have all been prescribed to "treat" neuropathic pain. However, these medications only treat the symptoms, but not the actual cause of neuropathic pain. Neuropathy occurs when nerves become damaged at the cellular level by inflammation and oxidative stress. Alpha-Lipoic Acid is powerfully antioxidant, and can help reduce this damage at a cellular level, relieving neuropathic pain by addressing the root cause of the problem - not just the symptoms.”

Best ever

I was dealing with nerve damage to the point I didn’t have balance or could barely walk. Plus being overweight didn’t help. 2 bottles of this and I’m walking and no longer over weight. Great product.

-Steven B.

Great Products!

I am very pleased with product My leg & foot nerve pain are so much better. I am on my second bottle. I highly recommend this.

-Robert S.

So happy with results

I have non-diabetic peripheral neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. Previously, I often had nights when the tingling, burning and pain made it nearly impossible to get to sleep. Alpha Lipoic Acid, though it hasn’t cured the neuropathy, has definitely reduced the discomfort to the extent that I rarely have difficulty falling asleep.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Does ALA only work on nerve pain?

A: ALA is an antioxidant with many benefits. It can help reduce symptoms of nerve pain throughout the body, increase insulin resistance, lower blood glucose levels, improve metabolic function, reduce oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and increase energy levels.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Being Poured in Hand

Q: Do you have to be diabetic to take ALA?

A: No, you do not! Alpha-Lipoic Acid can be taken by both diabetics and non-diabetics looking to manage nerve pain.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Capsule in Hand

Q: What type of nerve pain does ALA target?

A: ALA does not have a preference for a type of neural pain. The basic premise is that this lipophilic and hydrophilic antioxidant improves the function of nerves in general. Most pain can be traced to faulty nerve function and the goal with ALA is to improve the cellular function of neurons. The specific type or location of the nerve-based pain is not relevant.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Jar Held in Hand

Q: Can I take ALA with my diabetic medication?

A: Since ALA has the ability to lower blood glucose levels it is important to consult with your treating physician if you take insulin or other medications that lower blood sugar as ALA can enhance the effects of these medications too much.

Can You Inherit Neuropathy Pain

Can You Inherit Neuropathy Pain?

B-Vitamins & Pregnancy

You or a relative may experience neuropathic pain, leading you to wonder – is it hereditary?

If you experience neuropathy as the result of a condition like diabetes or thyroid disease, this is considered acquired neuropathy. However, there are hereditary conditions that can cause neuropathic pain.

What Is Hereditary Neuropathy?

Neuropathy stems from dysfunction or damage to nerve cells, which can result in discomfort or pain to the affected area. These often affect your peripheral nerves, or those nerves outside your spinal cord and brain.

Hereditary neuropathies can go undetected for years or present later in life. The symptoms can range from mild to severe, depending on the person and root cause. The environment in which such a condition manifests will also determine to phenotype (the actual symptomatic presentation).

Hereditary neuropathies have some commonalities. These symptoms include:

  • Sensory concerns like numbness, tingling or pain, often in the hands and feet.
  • Issues with your autonomic nervous system, the part of the body that affects involuntary actions like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and breathing.
Man With Pain in Foot Arch
  • Motor symptoms that can lead to muscle weakness or muscular atrophy. This is commonly seen in the lower legs and feet.
  • Physical deformities that can affect various parts of the body including the feet and spine. This can lead to high arches, hammer toes or even scoliosis.

Types of Inherited Neuropathies

Hereditary neuropathies are passed from parent to child, making a parent with hereditary neuropathy the highest risk factor.

More common forms of inherited neuropathy include Hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure palsies (HNPP) and Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.

HNPP has a 50 percent chance of being passed from a parent with HNPP to their child. It causes an extreme sensitivity to pressure that results in episodes of discomfort. During these episodes there is a loss of sensation, tingling or numbness in certain areas of the body. These commonly include the hands, arms, feet and legs.

Person Grabbing Knee in Pain

However, the symptoms of HNPP can often be so mild that the carrier of the condition does not even realize it is there.  This particular neuropathy is due to a deletion of chromosome 17p11.2 and it is autosomal dominant.

The more these episodes occur, the greater risk there is for permanent nerve damage and chronic pain.

CMT disease has many different subtypes, all of which affect about one in 3,300 people. This disease affects motor and sensory nerves and the symptoms depend on which type of CMT disease a person has.

Some common symptoms of CMT include poor balance, hand coordination and difficulty lifting the foot. As with HNPP, there is a 50 percent chance of a child inheriting this disease from an affected parent.

Relieving Nerve Pain Naturally

Although these genetic conditions cannot be treated, the associated nerve pain can be reduced. You can help yourself to reduce nerve pain with several of Dr. Warner’s Well Theory supplements.

What Causes Nerve Pain

What Causes Nerve Pain

Neurons of the Nervous System Cells

Nerve pain can be painful, debilitating, and life-changing. While nerve pain is usually incurable it can be treated and managed to increase quality of life. Nerve pain can be present due to a variety of different causes. Today we are going to talk about some of the most common causes.

What Is Nerve Pain?

The nervous system is a vast and complex system of neurons that run throughout the body connecting every inch to your brain. The nervous system links every part of the body together and sends electric and chemical signals that help the body function properly.

The nervous system oversees pain perception. Pain perception can help you prevent serious injury before it happens. For example, if you are cooking something on the stove and hover your hand over a hot pan you will feel a slight pain from the radiant heat. This helps your body know not to touch that surface to prevent serious burns. Those with neuropathy experience pain due to a misfiring of neurons sending signals to the brain when there is no obvious cause. It is basically pain without a purpose.

Nerve pain can feel like numbness, tingling, pricking, and loss of reflexes. Nerve pain can lead the body to feel hypersensitive. There are so many different ways that people interpret the ectopic firing of a neuropathic pathway, we cannot list them here.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Supplement Jar for Diabetic Neuropathy & Nerve Pain Relief

Basically, nerve pain can be thought of as pain that comes from the nerve itself.  This is different from nociceptive pain.  That type of pain is caused by the stimulation of a peripheral receptor and the transmission of an electrical signal along the course of a pain fiber to the brain for interpretation.

Nerve Pain Causes

So, what might make your nerves behave this way? Well, it could be a variety of conditions or diseases. Here are some of what are considered the most common causes:

Degenerative joint or disc disease – Nerves can become compressed with degenerative joint and disc disease. As the spine or joint deteriorates, the surrounding nerves are affected by the alteration in normal bone structure thus causing nerves to become compressed and damaged. Usually, the process of degeneration is affecting all systems of the body at the same time and the nerves themselves might be degenerative.

Tumors (cancerous and benign) – As tumors grow, they can press on the surrounding nerves. Cancerous tumors can even grow directly out from the nerves. Chemotherapy drugs and other cancer treatments can cause damage to nerves.

HIV – Up to one-third of people with HIV are affected by nerve pain. HIV-induced nerve pain tends to develop first in the hands and feet. HIV antiretroviral drugs can also cause additional nerve damage.

Diabetes – Over time high levels of glucose in the blood can lead to damaged nerve cells. Diabetic nerve damage is primarily focused in the hands and feet (peripheral neuropathy).

Shingles – A painful nerve condition called postherpetic neuralgia commonly occurs after having shingles. It can appear suddenly with severe nerve pain. This pain follows the path of a nerve that harbors the herpes zoster virus.

Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress – the modern Western lifestyle and diet cause immeasurable damage to the nervous system and often this leads to pain.

If you’re experiencing nerve pain, Well Theory has you covered! Our Nerve Pain Relief Bundle includes Alpha-Lipoic Acid and our Nervous System Multi.

These supplements can soothe frayed nerve endings and provide the pain relief you need.

Our Best Supplements For Nerve Pain

Our Best Supplements For Nerve Pain

Neurons of the Nervous System Cells

Nerve pain is defined by a disruption in proper nerve signaling to the brain. Nerve pain does not require a stimulus that indicates disease or injury. Nerves throughout the body can become compressed, crushed, or severed causing a malfunction in pain perception to the brain. Nerve pain can feel like burning, pinpricks, or like electric shocks. Nerve pain often has no obvious cause. It might feel like you stepped on a nail but in reality, there is no nail. Your brain just thinks there is.

While nerve pain is not always curable, there are steps you can take to manage nerve pain symptoms including natural supplements. At Well Theory, Dr. Meredith Warner offers several options to help manage nerve pain.

Supplements & Multivitamins

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA), in clinical studies, has been shown to reduce symptoms of nerve pain including numbness and tingling. ALA is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect nerves from free radical damage. ALA is commonly recommended for peripheral neuropathy in European countries.

Our Omega-3 Softgels contain both DHA and EPA sourced from both fish and algae. Omega-3 fatty acids help maintain the nerve membrane and myelin sheath health. Myelin is what surrounds many of your nerves and supports effective neural signaling. This ingredient helps keep neural tissues flexible and improves their function.  In addition, Omega-3 is well known to be antiinflammatory and can help to reduce the inflammation around nerve endings.

Our unique Nervous System Multi formula was created to offer powerful and optimal nervous system and cellular support. This multivitamin features PEA (palmitoylethanolamide), Chlorella, Luteolin, NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) , Resveratrol, and Omega-3 fatty acids. This is a powerful, natural mix of neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory ingredients to support the whole nervous system and to offer a foundation for your nerve pain relief.

Our Daily B-Complex Gummies contain all 8 essential B-vitamins. Vitamins B1, B6, and B12 work together to promote proper nerve function. Vitamin B1 provides energy to the nerves, B6 relieves nerve pain and helps you transmit nerve signals correctly, and B12 regenerates and protects nerves from damage. Deficiencies in the B-vitamins may increase the chances of developing or the severity of nerve pain.

Our Delta-8 THC Gummies contain Delta-8 THC and Full Spectrum CBD which can both bind to CB1 receptors of the endocannabinoid system; CB1 is a pain receptor that runs throughout the nervous system. When these receptors are bonded with Delta-8 or CBD, endogenous pain signals that contribute to nerve pain are reduced.

Here’s Why You Should Take Alpha-Lipoic Acid For Cellular Energy

Here's Why You Should Take Alpha-Lipoic Acid For Cellular Energy

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Supplement Jar Showing Capsules Held in Hand

Why You Need To Improve Your Cellular Energy With Antioxidants

When you think about your energy levels, you probably think about the fatigue that happens in the middle of your day, typically after lunch. Or the way you feel after a difficult workout. Or sometimes, though rare, you simply don’t feel like rising from your bed and starting the work day. You likely think this is because you have not had caffeine yet, that you may be sick, that perhaps you had a little too much fun the night before….

What probably doesn’t come to mind, however, is cellular fatigue. If the billions of cells that comprise the human body do not make enough energy to perform the billions of daily duties required of those cells, then overall you will feel fatigued. Today, we’re going to talk about why fighting cellular fatigue is so important – and how our line of surgeon-developed supplements can help keep your cellular energy at an optimal level.

How Do Cells Produce Energy?

The mitochondria in your cells are what converts things like oxygen, food, etc., into energy that is usable by your cells. From there, your organs, immune system, and more all use the energy produced by your cells’ mitochondria to function appropriately. Think of the mitochondria as the engine, or the refinery of the cell.

Group of People Exercising

The mitochondria produce your energy in the form of a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP is made after the refining of food-stuffs by the mitochondria. ATP is the primary mode of fuel utilized by the body. This process of refining glucose and other food into ATP naturally produces waste products called reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS are a necessary part of the fuel production process at the cellular level, but we produce too many an we don’t have enough methods to handle the waste in our cells. This leaves your mitochondria at especially high risk of oxidative stress.

When your mitochondria break down oxygen molecules to produce ATP, this process releases free radicals (aka ROS). Free radicals are molecules that are missing one or more electrons, and as they try to restore their own neutrality (pairing with other electrons,) they move through the body and your cells, causing damage in their wake. Nature does not like an unpaired electron; these are very damaging. They can cause molecules of other compounds in your body to disintegrate, promoting oxidative stress.

What Is Oxidative Stress?

Oxidative stress is an interruption in the natural balance of free radicals and antioxidants in your system. Free radicals are a normal part of your body’s energy production, but when they outnumber antioxidants in your body, oxidative damage occurs. Oxidation of cell membranes, proteins and DNA happen when there are too many unpaired electrons floating around. It is mandatory to control the levels of oxidation in the cell to control health, wellness and aging.

Oxidative Stress Cell Process

Oxidative damage can accelerate your aging, produce low-grade inflammation in your body, promote brain fog, a lack of energy, and harm immune health. Almost every feature of aging starts with reactive oxygen species.

Here’s one way to avoid oxidative stress:

Supplement With Antioxidants

Antioxidants are molecules that fight free radicals in your body. They pair with unstable free radicals, neutralizing them and preventing them from harming other molecular compounds within your body.

A great way to get antioxidants is through a diet high in vegetables and fruits. Richly pigmented fruits and vegetables, like tart cherries, blueberries, and leafy greens, are naturally high in antioxidants.

Another way of improving your antioxidant intake is through Supplementation.

The Many Health Benefits Of Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Alpha-Lipoic Acid is an excellent supplement for increasing your antioxidant intake and cellular health – and should be taken daily per your physician’s advice.

This antioxidant is found in meat products, and common vegetables like spinach and broccoli.

It has the unique ability to maintain its oxidative function even after losing an electron. Most antioxidants aren’t able to do this unless they take another electron from an outside molecular compound. Because of this, it helps to restore antioxidants in the body.

Benefits For Diabetic Healthcare

But its benefits don’t end there. It’s also well-known for its role in nerve damage repair, and promising studies have shown that it may help with symptoms of type 2 diabetes.

Alpha-Lipoic acid also helps mitochondria break down glucose for the production of energy, which assists with glucose metabolism that diabetics may struggle with.

Checking Blood Sugar With Diabetes

But its benefits don’t end there. It’s also well-known for its role in nerve damage repair, and promising studies have shown that it may help with symptoms of type 2 diabetes.

Alpha-Lipoic acid also helps mitochondria break down glucose for the production of energy, which assists with glucose metabolism that diabetics may struggle with. While ALA has not been proven as a treatment for diabetes, it has been proven to assist with glycemic control at the source.

Because of this, ALA may help enhance the body’s ability to use insulin, helping to stabilize blood sugar levels.

In addition to this, it can help to restore and repair microscopic nerve damage that is common in diabetics. Diabetes-induced neuropathy can be life-threatening, painful, and difficult to manage without the assistance of heavy pharmaceuticals. ALA offers a healthy alternative with little to no side effects.

If you choose to take this supplement to support your plan for any condition, we always recommend consulting with your physician first.

By using antioxidants like ALA to boost energy production within your mitochondria, you can help boost your physical strength, repair nerve damage, reduce inflammation, and reduce oxidative damage.
