Your Essential Guide to Omega-3 Softgels with Meredith Warner, MD

Omega-3 fatty acids are an important building block to the human body. The human body is unable to generate its own Omega-3s, thus it must be obtained from outside sources.

Benefits of Omega-3 Supplementation

  • Inflammation Support: highly anti-inflammatory, helps prevent chronic low-grade inflammation
  • Joint Pain Relief: reduces inflammation, stiffness, swelling, and pain in the joints
  • Brain Health: support proper blood flow in the brain and reduces the risk of developing age-related mental decline
  • Mood Support: facilitates communication between brain cells, helps smooth out mood swings and symptoms of depression
  • Cardiac health: Reduces levels of triglycerides

"Omega-3 is strongly correlated with health, longevity, better brain function, better cognitive function, better moods, less depression, and just better overall functionality of the cell."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What Is The Omega-3 Source In Your Softgels?

A: Our Omega-3 Softgels are made from the following fish: anchovy, herring, sardine, and mackerel!

Q: Why Should I Take Omega-3s?

A: Omega-3s are an essential group of fatty acids the human body requires for survival that can only be obtained through the foods we eat.  Humans are unable to produce Omega-3s on our own and require a dietary source.  It is thought that we began to incorporate Omega-3s into our diets during the Marine Isotope Stage 6 of the glacial period; we began to understand tidal movements more and relied upon shellfish and seafood more for calories.  When this happened, the brain was able to become better and better as time passed.

Q: How Do Omega-3s Help Pain And Inflammation?

A: Omega-3s utilize COX (cyclooxegenase) enzymes to produce anti-inflammatory molecules. These enzymes are normally pro-inflammatory and increase pain signals throughout the body. Normally, there are only arachidonic acid precursors available to these enzymes. Arachidonic acid generally derives from Omega-6 fatty acids. The American diet is completely filled with Omega-6s. Incorporating more omega-3 into your routine can reduce joint pain and inflammation throughout the body. The omega-3s will replace some of the omega-6s in the cell membranes.

NSAIDs are the most popular COX inhibitors; however, they can have serious side effects when taken long-term. NSAIDs block these enzymes and the omega-6 fatty acid cannot eventually turn into pro-inflammatory molecules. Omega-3 fatty acids simply replace the starting molecule and allow the enzymes to produce healing factors and anti-inflammatory substances.

EPA DHA Molecules

Q: What Does EPA And DHA Mean?

A: EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.

EPA has anti-inflammatory effects while DHA has brain health effects. DHA does have anti-inflammatory effects too but is thought to be more important for cell membrane structure. Our Omega-3 Softgels contain 892mg of EPA and 640mf of DHA in each serving.

Q: How Does Omega-3 Improved Brain Health And Mood?

A: Promotes blood flow in the brain, aids in brain tissue growth, and supports cognition and memory skills. Omega-3s may also help prevent neurodegenerative disorders. Omega-3s make the structures of the neurons better and also reduce inflammation within the brain and nervous system.

One common symptom associated with Omega-3 deficiencies is depression. Omega-3s are neuroprotective and may reduce mild to moderate symptoms of depression as these fatty acids cause changes in neuronal pathways. At this time, they are not meant to replace standard drugs, but work is ongoing.

Your Essential Guide To Our NMN

Unlock Optimal Aging Benefits Of NAD+ Activation

Dr. Meredith Warner’s new Longevity series has been curated to help you unlock the ability to slow physiological cellular aging and possibly reduce your biological age. NMN is a precursor molecule that transforms into NAD+ through a chemical process in the body. By middle age, your levels of NAD+ have become about half of what they were in your youth. It is thought that this can be remedied with supplementation.

NMN’s NAD+ Boosting Effects:

  • Optimal Aging: slows down aging processes and potentially reverses aging at a cellular level (pre-clinical studies)
  • Metabolic Health: Improved cellular energy & metabolic health
  • DNA Repair: reduced cell damage via improved mitochondria health and Sirtuin activation
  • Muscular Strength: increased aerobic capacity during exercise

“We are assaulted on a daily basis and our DNA is being damaged and mutated. Our body has a way to repair it. But if it doesn't have the energy, signaling molecules, and the properly folded enzymes to repair the DNA, then you can’t repair it. One of the keys to that process is NAD+. NMN is a precursor molecule to NAD+.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How are NMN and NAD+ related?

A:Through a series of chemical processes in the body, NMN has been scientifically shown to transform into NAD+ and raise the body’s level of NAD+ activity.

NAD+ is one of the most crucial molecules needed for cellular health. Without NAD+ the body declines very quickly.

NMN is more easily absorbed into cells and easily transformed into NAD+ before getting to work to repair cellular damage and efficiency.

Metabolism Process

Q: Does NMN affect metabolic health?

A: NMN affects all areas of the metabolic system. There are five markers of metabolic health: blood sugar, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, waist circumference, and blood pressure. This supplement has been shown to improve metabolic health and reduce the chances of developing a wide range of conditions related to poor metabolism and aging.

Q: How does NMN protect DNA?

A: Via NMN’s ability to improve mitochondrial health and energy production efficiency, oxidative stress-induced cell damage reduces as increased levels of Sirtuin proteins promote mitochondrial generation and cell protection.

Sirtuins (silent mating type information regulation) are a group of proteins that are involved in regulating cellular homeostasis and metabolic processes.

Your Essential Guide to Pterostilbene with Meredith Warner, MD

Your Essential Guide To Our Pterostilbene

Your Essential Guide To Our Pterostilbene

Pterostilbene is a highly antioxidant polyphenol that helps the body fight off oxidative stress caused by an imbalance of free radicals in the body. It’s highly bioavailable, meaning it can more readily pass through cell membranes—making it more available to support cellular pathways. This makes it very effective at neutralizing free radicals that can lead to chronic inflammation, cell death, DNA mutations, and more that affect the body in a variety of areas.

“In my years of clinical practice, I have learned that one of the best ways to combat many health issues is to ensure you’re getting enough antioxidants in your diet. Pterostilbene is a great option for this, because it’s highly bioavailable, which means it works efficiently within the body to deliver results. ”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where does Pterostilbene come from?

A: Pterostilbene is a part of an antioxidant group of compounds called polyphenols. They combat oxidative stress by reducing inflammation and reducing the number of free radicals in the body. You can get Pterostilbene from a number of food sources including blueberries, cranberries, sparkleberries, lingonberries, grapes. It can also be found in Pterocarpus marsupium heartwood. However, you’d have to consume a lot of these berries to achieve the same benefits.

Cell & Free Radicals: Healthy Cell, Cell Attacked by Free Radicals, & Oxidative Stress (cell destruction)

Q: Is Pterostilbene better than other antioxidants?

A: Antioxidants are all capable of neutralizing harmful free radicals, but they work in different ways throughout the body. Pterostilbene is a highly bioavailable antioxidant supplement. It’s often compared to Resveratrol, because they both exist within a class of compounds called stilbenes. However, Pterostilbene is more lipophilic, meaning it can better dissolve or combine with lipids. This also increases its bioavailability, allowing it to pass through cell membranes more readily, benefiting you more quickly at the cellular level.

Q: Can Pterostilbene boost my metabolism?

A: Pterostilbene can act as a metabolism regulator by increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing blood glucose levels. This supplement allows the body to respond better to insulin and prevents the liver from creating more glucose. Weight loss while taking Pterostilbene is achievable through stimulating metabolism, lowering blood sugar, reducing appetite, and increasing energy levels. This is of course best paired with a healthy, active lifestyle. Obviously, a healthy diet is always beneficial.

Female holding Pterostilbene Jar - 5 Benefits of Pterostilbene

What Is Pterostilbene

and where does it come from?

Pterostilbene is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in plants, similar to resveratrol, but more powerful. Pterostilbene is the main antioxidant component found in blueberries. While you can eat blueberries to get your pterostilbene, you would have to eat a lot of them to get the up to 250 mg suggested dose. Eating an entire pack of blueberries (6oz) would only get you about 0.03 to 0.18 mg, meaning you’d have to eat a ton of blueberries to get the full effects of pterostilbene! You can receive many benefits from incorporating more pterostilbene in your daily life. That said, we recommend that you still eat blueberries for the fiber!

Oxidative Stress Cell Progression

Fight Free Radicals

Pterostilbene is highly antioxidant. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals to prevent cellular damage. Free radicals are molecules or singlet electrons that may cause heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. Studies have found that people that consume fewer antioxidants in their diet are more susceptible to chronic illness and other diseases.

Improve Metabolism

Recent studies show that pterostilbene has blood sugar-balancing effects, similar to those of metformin. Pterostilbene has also been found to help burn excess calories, by aiding the brown adipose tissue (a type of fat in the body) in producing more heat to burn more calories. It has also been found that Pterostilbene may improve insulin sensitivity by blocking sugar from being converted into fats. Therefore, preventing the fat cells from enlarging.
